The goodness of Jesus.

Kind, patient, and always making room for people. A gentle look at who Jesus is, and why His goodness still changes ordinary days.

Good, not just impressive

When people talk about Jesus, they often start with the miracles. Those matter. But what stands out just as much is how He treated people. He noticed the ones others walked past. He touched people no one else would touch. He stopped for interruptions. He made time for children when the grown-ups thought there were more important things to do.

“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”Mark 10:14 (KJV)

That is goodness you can recognize. Not a distant, abstract kind of good, but the kind that sits down at the table, asks your name, and stays.

Love that came looking for us

The heart of the Christian faith is not that we worked our way up to God. It is that God came near. Jesus describes Himself as a shepherd who goes after the one who wandered off, and who lays down His life for His sheep.

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”John 10:11 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”John 3:16 (KJV)

Mercy that shows up every morning

A full life comes with full days, and some of them go sideways. The goodness of God is not something we earn back by having a better Tuesday. It is already there when we wake up.

“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)

A little practice

Write one of these verses on a card and prop it where you have your morning coffee. Read it before you read anything on your phone. Let the first word of the day be a kind one.

Goodness that spills over

When you have been treated with that kind of kindness, it is hard to keep it to yourself. That is where the rest of this corner of the blog comes from: little ways to love the people around us, do good quietly, and make room for God in the middle of a busy, beautiful life.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
